Lawrence Dillard entered this world on December 3, 1945, in Nashville Tennessee to the late Lottie Mae Liggins and George Eddie Dillard. On February 14, 2024 in Decatur, Alabama, God in his Infinite wisdom called Lawrence home and he obediently answered that call and left with his heavenly angels.

At an early age Lawrence knew the importance of having a relationship with Jesus Christ. Lawrence accepted Him as his Savior and became a member of Stokers Lane Church under the leadership of Bishop John Bates. Lawrence moved to Decatur, AL and married Mary Bynum and united with Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Edward Owens. Lawrence was a kind, very loving and unselfish man. He loved and was devoted to his family. He was a joker that always had a joke to tell, and kept everyone laughing.

Lawrence attended Nashville State College and studied in the technical field. He then went to work for the state of Tennessee as a Draftsman. Lawrence later enlisted with the U.S Army in September 30, 1971 and was honorably discharged on November 15, 1974.  While in the military he was a Track and Wheel Vehicle Mechanic and a M-16 Marksman. Lawrence was stationed in Baumholder, Germany in the 8th Infantry Division where he received the National Defense Service Medal and his Military Service Stripes.
