A Celebration of Life for Ms. Lillian Geneva Randell 94, of Decatur, Alabama will be noon Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Reynolds Funeral Home with the Rev. Theodore Lindsey officiating. Inhumation will follow in Decatur City Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Monday from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Lillian Geneva Randell was born May 28, 1930 in Somerville, Alabama to the late Cecil and Carrie Tapscott Randell. Mrs. Randell transitioned peacefully at her residence on November 22, 2024.
Geneva accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Somerville, Alabama while under the leadership of Pastor Frank Oaks where she served as a mother and was the oldest member of the church.
Geneva worked for several physicians and in private homes in Decatur, Alabama. She was free-hearted and was active in her Somerville and Decatur communities. Geneva enjoyed socializing with her neighbors in Presbyterian Towers. She loved to walk and read her Holy Bible. Geneva was a sweet, soft-spoken individual that everybody loved to be around.
Geneva was preceded in death by: her parents; son James Randell; grandson, Rodney Randell; two brothers and four sisters.
She leaves to cherish her memory; a daughter Willie Mae Randell; special niece; Margaret Langford; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
