Graveside Service for Mrs. Ljulia Jones, 96 of Decatur, Alabama will be 1:00 pm Wednesday at Sandhill Church Cemetery with The Reverend Shelton Cotner officiating. Public viewing will be Tuesday from noon till 6:00 pm at Reynolds Funeral Home. Mrs. Jones died on December 29, 2020 at Decatur-Morgan Hospital-Decatur General Campus.
Ms. Ljulia Jones was born to the late Sylvester Garth and Mary Pickett Garth in Morgan County, AL on September 16, 1924. She departed this life on December 29, 2020 in Decatur, AL surrounded by her family.
She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Sandhill Missionary Baptist Church. She serve faithfully until her health failed. She was known for her hugs and kisses, some of her favorite hobbies were, singing, humming, playing piano and sitting in the swing in the sunshine. Ms. Ljulia will forever be remembered by her family and friends as she touched the life on many people with her kind and loving heart.
Ljulia was preceded in death by her husband, the late Leroy Jones; her son, Clarence Jones; daughter-in-law, Louise Jones; sons-in-law, William Toney and Jordan Nichols; brothers, Isaiah Swopes, Sr, Frank Swopes, Lee Garth, Willie Garth; one sister, Hattie Mae Allen.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory: her daughters, Hattie Mae Toney, Betty Jean Nichols, Peggy Ann Jones, Katherine (Leonard) Hampton and Luvenian Jones, Inez Toney all of Decatur, AL; a son, Bobby Leroy Jones; a sister, Lucille Swopes; a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a special cousin, Edna Sue Gibson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
