A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Lula Mason Lampkin, 67, of Decatur, Alabama will be noon Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at First Missionary Baptist Church-Town Creek with Bishop Thomas Davis officiating and Inhumation to follow in Sterrs Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. Public viewing will be Tuesday from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lampkin was born January 3, 1956 in Lawrence County, Alabama to the late Wallace Walker and Mattie Mae Mason. She transitioned on May 9, 2023 at Decatur Morgan Hospital in Decatur, Alabama.
“Lulu” as she was affectionately called by her family and friends attended Hazelwood High School Class of 1974. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Town Creek, Alabama. She was employed at General Motors as an operator and retired after 30 years of service. She later was employed as a caregiver for A&K Heavenly Homes for five years.
Lula loved spending time with her grandchildren, fishing, playing spades and getting a manicure and pedicure. She enjoyed life to the fullest and was the life of the party. She never met a stranger and will be missed by all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Mattie Mason and Wallace Walker; her grandparents, Irene and Tommy Mason and grandson, Danyeal Clopton, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory: husband, John Lewis Lampkin; children, Vickie Clopton (Mark), Willie T. (Denise) Clopton, Jr., Daneyal Clopton, Sr., Kelandria (Airens) Almond all of Decatur; 20 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; goddaughter, Tawanna Stover of Huntsville; two brothers, Erister (Eliza) Mason and Tommy Mason, Jr. both of Town Creek; sister-in-law, Antonia Lampkin; lifelong friends, Leaster Fuqua and Kaye Orr all of Decatur; Wylodene Garth of Courtland, Al and Shirley King of Town Creek, Al; Jim Mack Jones an honorable son of love; Tiera Alexander an honorable daughter of love and a host of other in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins. Other relatives and friends.
Flower attendants and pallbearers will be family and friends.
