A Memorial Service for Mr. Marcus Carter,67 of Decatur, Alabama will be noon, Saturday June 8, 2024 in Reynolds Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Benjamin Burt officiating.
Marcus Anthony Carter was born on May 1, 1957 in Cedartown, GA, to the union of Nathaniel Carter, Jr. and Sametta White Carter. He departed this life at his residence in Decatur, AL on May 24, 2024. He was united in marriage to the late Joyce Jones. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Geletha Dobbins; uncles, Clarence and Ivory Joe White.
Marcus grew up in the home of his grandparents, Will and Mary Bailey White and considered his aunts and uncles as his sisters and brothers.
He attended the public schools of Decatur, AL.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his brother, Forrest Carter (Marilyn), of Tanner, AL; his uncles, Willie (Minnie), Thomas Lee (Peggy), Huntsville, AL, Carnell (Sandra) of Nashville, TN, John of Decatur, Danny (Carolyn) of Columbia, TN and Toney White of Houston, TX; his aunts, Viola Jackson of Decatur, Estelle Cohn of Detroit, MI, Alberta White, Phyllis Scott (Danny); Tracey Fletcher, and friend and caregiver, all of Decatur; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Mr. Carter transitioned May 24, 2024, at his residence. There will be no public viewing.
