Martha Owens Robinson

Funeral Service for Mrs. Martha Owens Robinson,78, of Decatur, Alabama. will be noon Saturday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Inhumation will follow in Owens Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Friday from noon until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Martha Owens Robinson was born in Hillsboro, AL in 1945. She was one of six children born to the late James S. Owens Sr. and Cornelia Swoopes Owens.

She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Olive P.B. Church. She served in the Church Choir for many years. On Jun 8, 2024, Martha was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Martha graduated from Tennessee Valley High School. She was always a fun, joyful person.  If you were around her you were going to laugh She had an awesome sense of humor and loved a good joke. Her love of people helped her to develop many friendships over the years.

Martha was a Domestic Engineer for over 35 years in private homes and built many lasting relationships with loving families.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James H. Robinson, Sr.; siblings, Dorothy O. Smith, James S. Owens, Jr, Donald C. Owens, Belinda Gail Bell Porter and James Harris.

She leaves to cherish her memory; three children, two daughters, Marcie Y. Robinson and Chantel R. Williams, son, James H. Robinson, Jr., all of Decatur;  three grandchildren, Xzaria, Xzavier and K’Lum; one bonus grandchild, K’lebb Taylor, all of Decatur; one sister, Minister Gloria O. Bouldin (Mizell) of Decatur; two brothers, Coynis R. Owens and John Harris of Courtland, AL; one aunt, Louise O. Jones of Hillsboro, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Two special friends, Gloria Tucker and Kellie Sims.

  Mrs. Robinson transitioned June 8, 2024, at Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children.
