Mary Lee Burt

Funeral Service for Ms. Mary Lee Burt,83, of Hillsboro, Alabama will be noon, Saturday at Bethlehem P.B. Church with Rev. Green Davidson officiating. Inhumation will follow in Calvary Memorial Gardens. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Friday from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.

 Mary L. Burt was born September 11, 1939 in Lawrence County, Alabama to the late Robert and Laura Lee Burt. She departed this world on September 4, 2023, to be in the God’s Care.    

She professed her faith in Christ early in life at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church, Hillsboro, Alabama where she was a faithful member until her homegoing.  

She graduated from Tennessee Valley High School and continued her education at Albright Business College.  She was employed by Wolverine Tube Company, Decatur General West Hospital and Community Action Agency of North Alabama until her season of Retirement.  

Mary loved to work in her yard and spending time with her family and friends.   

She was preceded in death by her parents, longtime companion Lee Garth, brothers Robert Henry (Carrie) Burt, Fred (Pearline) Burt, Carrie B. (Robert) Bell.

She leaves to cherish her memory:  children, Constance (Laurence III) Davis of Trinity AL, Dewanda (Marcus) Jackson of Lithonia, GA, Angelo Burt of Decatur, AL and Kendrick (Andrea) Burt of Madison, AL.; stepchildren, John Love and Kimberly Jackson both of Decatur, AL; 19 grandchildren; a plethora of great grandchildren; one sister, Susie Perkins of Hillsboro, AL; a special cousin, Rosie Lee Preston, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
