Mary Alice (Dillard) Davis

Funeral Service for Mrs. Mary Davis,96, of Decatur, AL. will be noon Wednesday October 1, 2025 at Canaan M.B. Church with the Reverend Ronald Merriweather officiating. Inhumation will follow in Foster-Davis Cemetery. Mrs. Davis will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Tuesday from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.  Mrs. Davis transitioned September 19, 2025 at River City Center in Decatur, AL. 

Mary Alice Dillard Davis was born, June 22, 1929 in Lawrence County, Al to the late Will and Odell Dillard. She departed this life on Friday, September 19, 2025, at River City Nursing Home in Decatur AL. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Jerusalem P.B. Church in Hillsboro, Al under the leadership of the late Pastor Elijah Watkins and the late Pastor Leon Madden. While there she was a devoted member and was a part of various committees in the church. She later joined Cannan Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Ronald Merriweather. she was a member of Spring Creek Pride #542 ORDER OF EASTERN STAR for 30 years. Mary Alice also known as " Ann" enjoyed spending time with family and friends and enjoying the large meals that she ate and prepared for them. 

She was preceded  by her husband Rev. William Riley Davis Jr., sisters Louise Dillard, Betty Jean Grizzard, niece, Emma Gaiter, and nephews Von Gaiter and Johnny Gaiter.

She leaves to cherish her memory; a nephew Richard Jones; a niece; Mary Amerson and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
