Graveside services for Mr. Melvin Dewayne Burgess, 60 of Danville, Alabama will be Noon, Tuesday at Lindsey Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Monday from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Melvin DeWayne Burgess Jr. was born on February 3, 1962 in Lawrence County, Alabama to the late Melvin Burgess, Sr. and Annie Pearl Burgess. He departed this life January 31, 2023.
He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age. He attended Speake High School in Lawrence County, Alabama. After high school, he went to work at Cerro Wire and Cable in Hartselle, Alabama. He later was employed and retired from Dunlap Tire in Madison, Alabama. He loved working on old cars and trucks. He also avid fan of Auburn Tigers football.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Nathan Allen Burgess.
He leaves to cherish his memory: two sons, Javaris Stover and Masio Stover both of Hartselle, Alabama; two daughters, Kandice Stover and Kandita Stover both of Decatur, Alabama; two brothers, Christopher(Elizabeth) Burgess of Decatur, Alabama and Paul (Joann) Pointer of Hartselle, Alabama; five grandchildren, two uncles, Willard Whitson of Mansfield, Ohio and Humper(Lois) Whitson of Mt. Hope, Alabama and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
