A Celebration of Life for Mr. Melvin C. Harris, 53 of Decatur, AL. will be noon Saturday at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and inhumation in Decatur City Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. Public viewing will be Thursday from 3-6 and Friday from 10-6 at the funeral home.
On Saturday, July 20, 2019, God called one of his great men, Melvin Harris home in Decatur, AL. Brother Melvin Carlise Harris, was born to Mr. Carl Scruggs and Mrs. Catherine Harris Miller on October 20, 1965 in Lawrence County, AL.
He confessed Christ at an early age.
He was a 1984 graduate of Decatur High School. He was employed with Decatur Country Club for many years and worked at Landers McLarty Chevrolet until he became disabled.
Melvin was known for his entertaining and witty character and he had a special love for family and friends. He never met a stranger and sold cars like nobody’s business.
He was preceded in death by his mom Catherine Harris Miller, Step-dad Bishop Miller, and brother Bae Scruggs.
