Graveside Service for Mr. Michael J. White, 66 of Decatur, Alabama will be 11:00 am Tuesday at Sterrs Cemetery with the Reverend Jerry Brown officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 pm till 5:00 pm at Reynolds Funeral Home. Mr. White transitioned on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Hospice Family Care in Huntsville, Alabama.
Mr. Michael White was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 30, 1954 to the late Lucy M. White. He departed this life on September 1, 2021 at Hospice Family Care in Huntsville, Alabama. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, he managed his illness with strength and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible.
Michael accepted Christ at an early age and joined Garner Memorial C.M.E. Church. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1973. Michael was affectionately known as “Whiteside” to anyone who knew him. He retired from Delphi/Saginaw. In addition to his love for family, Michael loved sports and watching movies in his recliner, good food, his flip phone, and spending time with his good friends, one who preceded him in death, Bishop “Doddie” Miller.
Michael was preceded in death by his mom and grandmother, Ruth Mitchell, and two sisters, Sandra Faye Earley and Barbara White.
Grateful for many shared personal and joyous memories are his seven children, Kesha Donald, Audrey (James) Craig, Shannon (Craig) McCaskey, Margo (Marvin) King, all of Decatur, LaShana (Ronald) McKinnon of Hoover, Michael Whitfield of Decatur, and Kevin White of Atlanta. One Sister, Carmen Major of Sommerdale, New Jersey; Brothers, Samuel White of Huntsville, and James F. (Kim) White of Dallas, Texas; a special niece and personal nurse, Corrie Baker; sixteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
