Modeste attended Morgan Park High School on the far south side of Chicago. Shortly after graduating, she went on to work at the Department of Corrections Girls Juvenile Division. She worked at Fermolab in Batavia, IL as an engineer until she retired. Soon after retirement Modeste moved to Decatur where she became the Coordinator of Senior Care Programs at Life Way Systems. Modeste had an unwavering love for animals; however, it was her deep affection for cats that truly captured her heart. Her compassion extended beyond furry friends to children as well. She found joy in their innocence and always time to bring smiles to those little faces.
