Reynolds Funeral Home announces with deepest sympathy the passing of Mrs. Nona Mae Teague, 74 of Decatur, AL. Mrs. Teague died April 28, 2019 at her residence. A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 am Wednesday at Hills Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America with Dr. Willie Cowan officiating and inhumation in Sterrs Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. Public viewing will be Tuesday from 11-7 at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Mrs. Nona Mae Mitchell Teague was born on April 19, 1945 to the late Nathan Edward Mitchell and Elizabeth Skinner in Morgan County, Alabama. She entered into eternal rest on April 28, 2019 in Decatur, Alabama at her residence.
Nona Mae confessed her hope in Christ at an early age and united with Hill’s Chapel C. P. Church under the leadership of the Robert Sandifer.
Nona Mae attended Morgan County Training School graduating in the Class of 1964. She was a free spirit, known for telling you how it is. She had a beautiful soul. Nona never met a stranger. In her later years she could teach you how to win at the penny machine at the casino. Nona Mae was a loving wife and nurturer of ALL her nieces and nephews. She was a homemaker and a great listener. She loved people.
Nona Mae was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Hazel Mitchell and Deloris Mitchell; brothers, Leon Mitchell and Herschel Mitchell.
Nona Mae leaves to cherish her precious memory: her devoted husband, Frank Teague of Decatur; a special loving and devoted niece, Vintrietus Necole Mitchell of Decatur, AL; stepson, Frank Teague, Jr.; sisters, Emma Kate (David) Mitchell-Swoopes of Decatur; sisters-in-law, Gloria Teague of Louisville, KY, Ernestine Matthews, Loretta (Charles) Jackson both of Decatur, Rebecca Teague Isaac of Pittsburg, PA; brother-in-law, Louis (Minnie) Teague of Huntsville, AL; devoted nieces, Sharon Nash, Catherine Jackson both of Decatur, and Tammy Tapscott of Iowa, Sharon Miller, Anna Louise Tapscott, Travia, Kim, Felicia, Andrea, Monique, and Temira all of Decatur; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Great Great Nephews. Flower Bearers will be Great Great Nieces.
