Graveside service celebrating the life of Mrs. Patricia Crowe Jarman, 80 Decatur will be 1:00 pm Friday, January 29, 2021 at Decatur City Cemetery with the Reverend Edward Owens officiating. Public viewing will be Thursday from 1:00 pm till 6:00 pm at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Mrs. Patricia Ann Crowe Jarman was born in Atmore, Alabama on March, 22 1940 to the late Clarence and Hattie Kimbrough Crowe, one of three from the union. She peacefully passed on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the Decatur Morgan County Hospital in the presence of loved ones.
Pat was educated in the Escambia County School System and later matriculated to Alabama A&M University where she met and married the love of her life, Cleveland “Cleve” Jarman Jr. Pat and Cleve created a wonderful and loving home in Decatur, Alabama where this union was blessed with four children, Cleveland E. Jarman III (deceased), Cynthia, Kathy and Anya Jarman who they adored and doted over, along with their grandchildren.
For over 30 years Pat was a dedicated educator at Moulton High School, Lakeside High School, and Oak Park Middle School where she touched the hearts and minds of many. It was a career she loved, especially her time as a science teacher, and many adult professionals today attribute their success to the dedication, passion and exuberance that she possessed in being an educator.
Pat served as president of the mothers board for Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church of which she was a longtime member. She also served on many boards including: Decatur City Beautification, Decatur City Parks and Recreation, Sterrs Daycare and Seville Housing Development just to name a few.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, and her sister Priscilla Moorer.
Pat leaves to cherish her memory: her daughters, Cynthia Jarman-Funderburk (Anthony) of Decatur, Kathy Jarman-Knowles (Kevin) of Nassau, Bahamas and Anya Jarman Davis of Decatur; five grandchildren, Alissa Rae and Aaron Cleveland Funderburk, Kristoph Giovanni and Kameron Djimon Knowles and Christina Faith Davis; her brother, Calvin “Peter” Crowe (Ernestine) of Culver City, CA; three sisters-in-law, Jamesetta Wilkerson of Tuscaloosa, AL., Sandra Calvin (Donald) and Paula Johnson (Jerry) both of Decatur, AL., five brothers-in-law; George Jarman (Vivian) of Decatur, GA and Michael Jarman of Portland, OR, Rex Jarman (Jewel) and Ronnie Jarman both of Decatur, AL and Leon Crayton (Joan) of Hillsboro.AL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, neighbors and friends.
