Quintin Alexander James Montgomery was born on November 4, 1985, to the proud parents James D. Montgomery and Wanda J. Montgomery. On Wednesday, January 7, 2026, he peacefully departed this earthly life.

From an early age, Quintin’s life was shaped by movement, exploration, and connection. He traveled and lived extensively throughout his life. As a child and young adult, he resided in Kansas City, Missouri; Topeka, Kansas; Lawton, Oklahoma; West Bloomfield, Michigan; Union City, Tennessee; and Decatur, Alabama. As an adult, he made his home in Denver, Colorado; Atlanta, Georgia; and Los Angeles, California. Each place adds to his depth, perspective, and love for people.

Quintin accepted Christ at an early age and was actively involved in the Young People’s Department (YPD) at Wayman Chapel AME Church. He enjoyed playing baseball at Cedar Ridge Middle School and proudly served as drum major for the Austin High School (AHS) Band. Graduated with Honors from Austin High School, Class of 2003. It was during these formative years that Quintin discovered his deep love for bands and music, a passion that remained with him throughout his life and ultimately led him into the music industry.

Authentic in every sense of the word, Quintin was a true free spirit. He toured with several bands across the United States and Canada, calling many major cities home along the way. His love for travel, combined with his kind heart, allowed him to connect effortlessly with people wherever he went. Charismatic and warm, Quintin could strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere. His passion for adventure and genuine friendship left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Quintin returned home to Decatur, Alabama, where he remained until his passing. A jack of all trades, he worked several jobs in Decatur, Madison, and Huntsville, Alabama. His most recent employment was with Firestone Auto Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

Quintin was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Wanda Jean Thomas Montgomery; his maternal grandparents, Albert and Rosie Thomas; and his paternal grandparents, Henry and Leatha Montgomery.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his father, James D. Montgomery, and his sister, Victoria A. Montgomery. He is also survived by loving aunts and uncles, as well as a host of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Quintin’s life was marked by music, movement, and meaningful connection, and his memory will live on through the many lives he touched.
