Quinton Owens Obituary

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Quinton Lamon Owens, 42 of Decatur, Alabama will be noon Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Westside M.B. Church with Bishop Cary Orr officiating. Inhumation will follow in Calvary Memorial Gardens. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will Friday from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Quinton Lamon Owens was an amazing father, loving son and devoted brother. He was born January 16, 1980 in Decatur, AL to Roderick Garth and Sandra Owens Garth. Quinton was one of three children. His gentle spirit and infectious smile could light up any room as he brought laughter to every conversation. 

Preceded in death by his grandparents: Grandfather Butcher Garth and Grandmother Ophelia Morrow of Decatur, Grandfather William Sandy Owens of Hillsboro, AL and Grandmother Evelyn Jarmon Williams (John) of Town Creek, AL,  Uncles: Fernan Elliott of Decatur, AL, Uncle Charles Brown, of Decatur, AL and Anthony Batts of Decatur, AL.

Quinton leaves to cherish his memory: Children, Quinton Lamon Owens Jr. and stepson Landen Tolliver, and the mother of Quinton Jr. Brittany Malone of Decatur, AL. He is survived by a sister Lakenya Owens a brother Tronorris(Spoody) Owens both of Decatur. Nephew Cody Porter, Jr. of Decatur, AL and Nieces Dallas Owens and Nivea Owens both of Decatur, AL.Surviving Aunts and Uncles: Jewel Jarmon (Rex) and Chandra (Dee Dee) Garth, both of Decatur, AL. Erskine Brown Jr. (Olivia) of Athens, AL, Linda Batts of Decatur, Dennis Brown (Deborah), Cathy Miller (Ricky), Tony Brown of Decatur, John R. Williams of Decatur, all of Decatur, AL, and Jennifer Parker (Marlowe) of Madison, AL. A host of great aunts, cousins, other relatives, and friends who loved Quinton dearly.  

The family would like to thank the Coaches and Parents of the Decatur National Baseball Association, Decatur Baseball Team and The Decatur Youth Services T-Ball Team for the love and compassion shown during this difficult time as they recognize Quinton’s presence will be truly missed. Quinton’s most cherished memories was his involvement as a supportive father and Team Dad to his son’s teams. He attended every sporting and school event of his sons, nieces, and nephew. Quinton truly enjoyed spending time with his sons and family. He never missed a holiday gathering and would likely be the first to arrive. His compassion for his family was exhibited through his love and support. His legacy will live on forever through his family and friends who loved him dearly.
