A Celebration of Life for Mr. Robert Earl Harris, 69 of Athens and formerly of Town Creek, Alabama will be 2:00 PM Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Macedonia MB Church with the Reverend Leonard Shackelford officiating. Inhumation will follow in Washchilla Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Friday from noon till 5:30 PM at Reynolds Funeral Home. Mr. Harris transitioned on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at his residence.
Robert Earl Harris was born on March 23, 1953 to Gurtha Lee Pinchon and Henry Louis Harris, Jr. in Lawrence County, Alabama. He departed this life on April 16, 2022 at his residence in Athens, Alabama.
He confessed a hope in Christ at a very young age. He relocated to Dayton, Ohio, where he was baptized and joined Ebeneezer Baptized Church.
He retired from Dubro’s & Sons after many years of service..
He is preceded in death by his wife, Margie D. Harris of Athens, AL; father, Louis Henry; mother, Gurtha Lee Harris; brothers, Henry Louis, O. C. Harris, Edward Harris , Sr. (Lydia); one sister, Mary Ester Jones.
He leaves to cherish his memory: two sons, Jonathan E. Williams of Dayton, OH and Dewone Works of Jacksonville, FL; three daughters,
Keita L. Harris, TeQuita Harris both of Dayton, OH, and Kendall Harris of Athens, AL; four sisters, Emma (Ralph) McCoy, Charles Ann (Charles) Warren, Cora Jones, all of Town Creek, AL, Lee Gurtha Witfield of Calhoun, GA; favorite uncle, Percy Harris of Town Creek, AL; special friend, Clarence Smith of Dayton, OH; 20 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; other relatives and friends.
