Roy McDaniel Obituary

Funeral Service for Mr. Roy Lee McDaniel, 62 of Decatur, Alabama will be noon Saturday at Bell P.B. Church with Elder Benjamin Burt officiating and Elder Montrice Bethea host pastor.  Inhumation will follow in Bell P.B. Church Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Friday from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home. 

Roy Lee McDaniel was born in Morgan County, Alabama on April 3, 1961 to the late Mrs. Ellistine E. McDaniel.  He entered into eternal rest on December 29, 2023 at his residence in Decatur surrounded by his loved ones.

Roy accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age and joined Bell Primitive Baptist Church, where he served faithfully until his health began to fail.  In April 2007, Roy was ordained as a Deacon and later appointed as the Superintendent of Sunday School.

Roy grew up in the Morgan County area and attended West Morgan High School. He was employed by Estes Express Lines for 27 years.

Roy was preceded in death by his mother and two brothers; Carl S. Clopton and Edward T. Clopton; and bonus brother, Eddie Coffey

He leaves to cherish his loving memory: five brothers, Richard (Jeanette) McDaniel, Michael (Lillie) Clopton and David (Pamela) Clopton all of Decatur, AL, Willie McDaniel and Ray Clopton of Hillsboro, AL; four sisters, Mendy McDaniel, Coretta (Thomas) Goodloe and Lillie Turner all of Decatur, AL, MeShelia (Toronto)  Wynn, Cartersville, GA; two uncles, Eddie Wiggins and James (Linda) Wiggins; four aunts, Geneva Gray, Eliza  Minor, Gloria (James) Wilkerson and Mattie (Glen) Cain all of Decatur, AL; a special friend, Catrina Langford; four bonus brothers, James Curtis (Pricester) Coffey, James Edward (Melissa) Coffey, Franklin Coffey and Stanley Coffey; two bonus sisters, Melissa (Alvis) Wiley and Lucy (Lester) Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
