Royal Fenderson, 73, of Oberlin, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 12th, 2021 in Alabama. He was born May 25th, 1947 to the late Mollie King and James Fenderson, Jr. in Sumter County, Alabama.
Roy graduated in 1965 from high school in Mansfield. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree from The University of Akron. Roy worked for many years at General Motors in Elyria and Parma, he retired in 2008.
In his free time, Roy enjoyed driving his Corvette, traveling, working in his yard, sports and spending time with family and friends. Roy married his best friend and loving wife, Sharon Fenderson in July of 2003. He was a member of the Elyria Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses. He had a deep love for teaching others about God.
Roy is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Kysha (Austin) Reid, Jonathan (Jenny) Fenderson, Jullion Fenderson, Jacie Young, Yuceff (Gwynne) Young; 13 grandchildren; siblings, Gloria Jean Allen, Harold Fenderson, Kathy M. Fenderson, Audrey White, Felisa Fenderson, LaTonya Fenderson-Warren, Sabrina King and a host of other relatives.
Until we meet him again, we will miss Roy, a true gentleman and servant of Jehovah God.
A private burial will be held in Oberlin. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
