Ruby A (Matthews) Elliott

Graveside service for  Mrs. Ruby Matthews Elliott, 72 of Decatur Alabama will be noon Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Calvary Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Arthur L. Warrior officiating. There will be no public viewing. 

On February  3, 2021, God called his beloved daughter, Ruby Matthews Elliott home. This precious soul was born to the late Chester Matthews, Sr. and the late Eunice Matthews on August 25,1948, in Decatur, Alabama.

She was always one to speak her mind, and her communication skills served her both personally and professionally.  Ruby was a talented Cosmetologist and business owner for many years and was loved by all her clients.

She graduated from Morgan County Training School and furthered her education at Calhoun College where she received her degree in Cosmetology.

Ruby loved the Lord and served Him faithfully until the end.

She has dear family members that preceded her in death; her beloved parents, Chester Matthews, Sr. and Eunice Matthews; two brothers, Howard Matthews and Artis Matthews.

Ruby leaves to mourn: precious children, Darin Elliott, Teresa Elliott and Renee Elliott Moore (Antwan); two grandsons, Shamar Elliott and Jordan Elliott; one sister, Deanna Wright (William); four brothers, Chester Matthews, Jr. (Bessie), Newlyn Matthews, Erskin Matthews (Linda) and Larry Matthews (Norma); and a host of nieces and nephews.
