Ruth Nell (Turney) Stevenson

A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Ruth Nell Stevenson, 86, of Decatur, Alabama will be 11:00AM Friday at King's Memorial U..M. Church. Inhumation will follow in Calvary Memorial Gardens. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Thursday from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ruth Nell Turney Stevenson formerly of Milwaukee, WI was born December 15, 1937 to the parents of Maxie and Eddie Bell Turney.  She departed this life on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at the Decatur Morgan Hospital.

She accepted Christ at a young age, at Ward’s Chapel CME Church.

Mrs. Stevenson attended schools in the Morgan County School System. She retired from Walgreen Photo Studio in Milwaukee, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Murel Stevenson; sisters, Fannie Mae Sykes, Burnice Cowley, Elizabeth Black, Maxie Mae Chatman; brothers, Joe Bend Turney and Mac Authur Turney.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory; stepson, Bobby Joe Grundy of Decatur; one sister, Lula Jean Turney of Milwaukee, WI; two sisters-in-law, Peggy Jean Sales and Mattie Miller of Decatur; one brother-in-law, the Rev. Equator Black of Somerville, AL; three best friends, Mary Shears, Cathey Reed, and Shelia Irby of Milwaukee, WI; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special niece and caregiver, Bobbie Jo Bradley of Decatur.

  Mrs. Stevenson transitioned June 15, 2024, at the Decatur Campus of Decatur Morgan Hospital.
