Ruthie Jean (Blalock) Dillard

Graveside Service for Mrs. Ruthie J. Dillard, 81  of Hillsboro, Alabama will be noon Monday, September 21, 2020 at Sterrs Cemetery with the Reverend Fred Jefferson officiating.  Public viewing will be Sunday from 1-5 at Reynolds Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Ruthie Blalock Dillard was born to Carteree Clay and Elmer Blalock on February 24, 1939 in Lawrence County, Alabama. She departed her life on September 15, 2020 at her residence.

She accepted Christ as Lord and Savior at an early age and became a member of Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church in Hillsboro, AL.

She retired from Lawrence Cooperation with 20 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, Warner Dillard; her two sons, Rickey Horton and Garland Horton; two sisters, Alice Clay and Gloria Joiner; a brother James Clay.

Ruthie leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Anthony Dillard, Shawanni Gladney and Deresa Dillard of Hillsboro, AL, Rodney Dillard of Huntsville, AL and Ron Dillard of Decatur; two siblings, Robert Clay of Hillsboro, AL and Carolyn Jones of Houston, TX; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Decatur Dialysis Center, First Response, Payless Pharmacy and JaQuez Dillard, caregiver.
