Funeral Service for Mrs. Sallie Mae Lane Orr, 83 of Hartselle, AL will be noon Saturday at New Hopewell M.B. Church with the Rev. Larry Lockett officiating. Inhumation will follow in Thatch-Mann Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Friday from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Sallie M. Orr was born June 21, 1942, in Limestone County to Mr. Zeb and Mrs. Lottie Cheatom Lane. She departed this life on March 1, 2025 in Hartselle, Alabama.
Sallie confessed Christ as her personal savior and was baptized into the body of Christ at the New Hopewell M. B. Church, Tanner, AL. She was a faithful member of the Lane Sisters and New Hopewell Choir. Although Sallie didn’t drive, she made sure she attended services on a regular basis.
She began her elementary education at Dogwood Flats Elementary School. She was a 1963 graduate of Trinity High School, Athens, AL.
You would always find Sallie with an infectious smile and a very kind heart.
Those who predeceased Sallie were her parents: Mr. Zeb and Mrs. Lottie Cheatom Lane, brothers: Al Willie Lane, John Lane, Milton Fletcher, sisters: Mary Lou Lane, Rosie L. Holman, Glenna R. Houston, Sammie D. Robinson.
She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Thomas (Aurora) Orr, Trinity, AL; daughter: LeTonia (Ron) Webster, Decatur, AL; four grandchildren, Kalandra Slaughter, Heaven Orr, Decatur AL; Isaiah Orr, Huntsville, AL; Carrington Orr (James, Josh ), St Louis, MO; one sister, Mrs. Mattie Malone, Athens, AL; two brothers, Mr. James (Wondolyn) Lane, Athens, AL, Billy Lane, Huntsville, AL; one brother in-law, Willie L. Robinson, Huntsville, AL; special friends: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pointer, Hartselle, AL; Mr. Larry (Wedda) Byrd, Hartselle, AL; Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson, Decatur, AL, The New Hopewell M. B. Church family and a host of other relatives and friends.
