A Celebration of Life for Mr. Samuel Timothy Jackson 59 of Decatur, Alabama will be noon Saturday, January 27, 2024 at St. Stephens P.B. Church with the Reverend George Allen eulogizing and Elder Christopher Collins officiating. Inhumation will follow in Sterrs Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. Public viewing will be Friday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Samuel Timothy Jackson, Sr., was born to the late Jessie Jackson and Susie Mae Moore Jackson Earskine on July 27, 1964, in Decatur, Alabama. Samuel transitioned at his home on January 17, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones in Decatur, Alabama. 

Samuel, affectionately known as Tim or Timp, attended his formative schooling in the Decatur City School System. He confessed hope in Christ on May 19, 2012, and joined St. Stephen P.B. Church under the pastoralship of the late Elder Eugene Lewis. 

Timp was employed at Wayne Farms and as a Manager with Church's Chicken. His most rewarding position was being a cook for Golden Corral Buffett for many years. His version of the story was that he was the "Master Chef".

Timp was preceded in death by three brothers: Levon Hayden, Matthew Jackson, and Hosley Leon Jackson; one sister: Jessie Mae Mason; stepfather: Mr. James Earskine, and two nephews: Minister Karokus Jackson and Matthew "Homer" Jackson.

Timp leaves to cherish his memory: children, Samuel Lee Brooks (Keisha) of Decatur, Samuel Dion Rodgers (Kendra), of Dayton, OH, Britney Nicole Brooks , of Athens, AL, Timothy O'Neal Brooks (Amanda) of Decatur, Erica Renee Brooks (Shatara), of Decatur,Jamarian Tyree Jackson of Decatur, Samuel Timothy Jackson, Jr. of Madison and James Jackson, of Decatur; 17 grandchildren; three sisters, Gloria Barrow of Huntsville, Connie Jackson-Lane and Belinda Jackson (John) both of Decatur; two brothers, Howard Jackson and Anthony Jackson both of Huntsville; two sisters-in-law, Dr. Carol Tower-Jackson of Huntsville, and Catherine Jackson, of Hillsboro; two special cousins, Aaron Smith Sr. (Helen) of Tulsa, OK and Doris Jackson McDonald of Valhermoso Springs; a devoted niece/caregiver, Deveturis "Dee" Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
