Graveside Service for Mr. Tyrick B. Scruggs 51 of Decatur, AL will be 11:30 am Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Decatur City Cemetery with the Reverend Christopher Collins officiating. Public viewing will be Friday from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Tyrick Bernard Scruggs was born into time on April 20, 1969 in Decatur, Alabama to Barbara Davis Scruggs.and the late Clinton George Scruggs. On Friday, April 9, 2021 at 2:06 pm at Decatur Morgan Hospital, Tyrick Bernard Scruggs departed this earthly life.
Tyrick accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of St. Stephens Primitive Baptist Church in Decatur, Alabama under the leadership of Elder Eugene Lewis.
He attended Austin High School where he became a proud graduate of the Class of 1987. He was a very talented athlete. He lettered in four different sports, football, basketball, baseball and track. Vice loved to laugh. He had a very unique laugh. Anyone that knew him could recognize the laugh if you know what I mean. He was the life of the party. He was affectionately called “Vice” by his family and friends.
Among those who preceded him in death include; grandparents, Cleveland Scruggs, Willie Lee Fields Scruggs, James Polk, Pearlean Polk; his dad, Clinton George Scruggs; brothers, George Clinton Scruggs; aunt, Hattie Shackelford; uncles, Robert Clifford Scruggs, Sr; cousin, Craig Shackelford; sister-in-law, Milicent Huber.
He leaves to cherish his memory: mother, Barbara Ann Davis Scruggs of Birmingham,, AL; stepmother, Karen A. Scruggs of Decatur; sister, Kimberly Scruggs of Birmingham, AL; brother, Rodney Scruggs of Decatur; uncle, Thad Davis (Adieline) of Madison, AL; aunts, Emma Caudle (Levert) of Decatur, Sarah Scruggs Cordell (Alfred) and Wanda Chairs Scruggs both of Decatur; nephews, Rodtavius Buford and Desmond Huber; a host of cousins other relatives and friends
