Wanda Jean (Wilkerson) Elliott

A Homegoing Family Celebration Service for Mrs. Wanda Jean Wilkerson Elliott, 73 of Decatur, Alabama will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 12 Noon, Reynolds Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, with the Elder Benjamin Burt officiating and interment at Calvary Memorial Gardens. Public viewing will be Friday, 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Wanda Jean Wilkerson Elliott was born on July 25, 1948 in Louisville, KY.  She was the seventh child born to the late Willis Edward Wilkerson, Sr. and Katherine Collier Wilkerson.  She departed this life on July 27, 2021, at Decatur Health and Rehab in Decatur, AL.

She was affectionately known to her family and friends as “Jean”.

Jean attended Cedar Lake Elementary School, Cherry Street Elementary School and graduated from Lakeside High School in Decatur, AL.

Jean was employed by the State of Alabama Unemployment Office and later worked at Decatur General Hospital, Decatur Health and Rehab and was co-owner and manager of Elliott’s BBQ before retiring.

Jean was preceded in death by; her parents; her loving husband, Albert “Bud” Elliott; her son, Jeffery Wilkerson; her daughter, Katrina Wilkerson; her step stepdaughter, Gloria Vines; and her sister, Deborah Wilkerson Duke.

Those who will forever cherish her memory are: her siblings, Willis (Annie) Wilkerson, Jr.; James (Gloria) Wilkerson, Elmer Wilkerson, Edward Cummings, Shirley Morrow, Phyllis Boulden and Karen Wilkerson, all of Decatur, AL; Mercie Powell of Waynesboro, VA and Yolanda McKelvey of Austin, TX; her grandchildren, Quentin Wilkerson, Quincey Wilkerson, Santana Wilkerson, Ardiana Wilkerson, Angelique Wilkerson, Jeffery Smith and Jessica Smith, all of Decatur, AL; five stepchildren, Janice Thompson, Bobby Elliott, Albert Elliott, Connie White and Dorothy Franklin, all of Decatur, AL; five sisters-in-law, Ernestine Elliott, Sara Boykin, Elizabeth (William) Swoopes, Linda (Andrew) Watkins, all of Decatur, AL and Rebell Elliott of Trinity, AL; two brothers-in-law, Harold Elliott and Jimmy Elliott both of Decatur, AL; thirteen step-grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

Pallbearers will be Eric Wilkerson, Jack Powell, Eric Jackson, Greg Powell, Mario Benford, Floyd Boulden and Jerry Swopes. Flower Bearers will be Kenya Pendleton, Kenyetta Gray, Martia Morrow, Antoliyah Morrow, Arnita Boulden, Brenda Jones, Tamari Boulden, Mallory Gray-Powell and Tamala Swopes.

Covid 19 Regulations are in force. Masks must be worn inside the funeral home.
