Willie Baker Jr.

Funeral Service for Mr. Willie Baker Jr., 73 of Decatur, Alabama will be noon, Friday at Christ Temple Holiness Church with Dr. Chinetha Baker officiating. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Mr. Baker transitioned July 5, 2024, at the Decatur Campus of Decatur Morgan Hospital. 

Mr. Willie Baker, Jr., (Uncle Bill) was born on March 15, 1951 in Wheeler, AL, to the late Willie Baker Sr., and the late Katie Baker.  He transitioned to the next life on July 5, 2024 in Decatur Morgan Hospital.

Willie Baker Jr., graduated from Central High School in 1970 and retired from General Motors on October 31, 2008 after working there for over 25 years.

Willie enjoyed fishing and being around people. He was the “life of the party”.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers/sisters, Henry,

Paul and Shirly (OH), Lucy, Eloise, Elizabeth, Charles and Pearline, all of Decatur.

Willie Baker, Jr. left memories to be continued on by: his lovely wife,

Carolyn Baker of Decatur; children, Sierra “Tina” Griffin, Johnny Kennard Baker of  Decatur, Kristen “Kris” Baker of Savannah, GA; grandchildren, Catherine (Chad) Walker, Savannah, GA, Zontae “Zee-Man” Griffin, Christopher “Chris-A-Boo” Griffin, Zyrhale “Zeke” Griffin and Chris “CJ” Baker and Kiyah “KK” Baker both of Savannah, GA, brothers, Frank (Lela) Baker, Thomas Baker and Robert Baker; sister, Margarett (Richard) Mosley, Hillsboro AL; sister-in-law, Dr. Chinetha Baker;  a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
