Willie George ("Bank") Long

Funeral Service for Mr. Willie George "Bank" Long,70, of Decatur, Alabama will be 11:00AM Friday at Reynolds Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Ronnie Powell officiating. Inhumation will follow in Sandhill Church Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Thursday from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home. 

Willie George Long was affectionately called “Bank” by his special family and friends was born on December 3, 1953 in Decatur, AL to Mathey Ryan and Nelly Aurthors. He departed this life on March 4, 2024 at his residence.

He attended school in the Decatur City School system and was employed by Dutch Quality, where he worked for ten years before retiring.

“Bank” loved spending time with his family was well known for the special barbecue that he cooked for those family gatherings.

Mr. Long was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Magnolia McGee, Mary Swoopes, Josie Long, Caroline Slaughter and Geneva Butler; four brothers, Charlie Long, Andy Long, Sky Long and Billy Ryan.

“Bank” leaves to cherish his memory:his sister, Katie Lee Long Swoopes; children, that he raised as his own, Latrese Dancy, Rachelle Fuqua, Edward White, Jr., Regina Fuqua and Keyana Fuqua; one brother, Ocie Dancy; his caregiver and niece, Carolyn Long Evans; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
