Funeral Service for Mr. Willie "Pete" Taylor, 75, of Decatur will be 11:00am Saturday January 25th at United Pentecostal Jubilee House of Prayer with inhumation to follow in Sterrs Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service.
Public viewing will be Friday January 24, 2025, from 1:00pm-4:00 pm and the family will receive friends from 4:00pm-5:00pm at Reynolds Funeral Home.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Willie Alexander Taylor, better known as "Pete", a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, friend, and pillar of our community. On January 14, 2025, our beloved Pete left an unforgettable impact on the hearts of everyone he touched, as he peacefully departed this life at the age of 75.
A Life of Service and Love
Born on November 27, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan, Pete grew up with a strong sense of purpose and dedication to others. He attended Ketterling High School, where he laid the foundation for a lifetime of service and achievement. Pete proudly served his country for 23 years in the United States Air Force, earning distinction and honor for his selfless commitment.
Following his military service, Pete continued to serve his community as a Med Tech at Parkway Hospital in Decatur, Alabama, where he cared for countless patients and families with compassion and kindness. In addition to his work in healthcare, Pete became an investigator with the Special Victims Unit at the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department. His tireless advocacy for victims' rights and justice earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the families he helped.
A Heart of Gold
Beyond his impressive professional accomplishments, Pete was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend who touched countless lives with his infectious humor, generous spirit, and unwavering empathy. His love for his family knew no bounds, and he was always there to offer a listening ear, a comforting word, or a helping hand. His kindness, compassion, and generosity inspired everyone around him to be better versions of themselves.
A Legacy of Love and Laughter
While Pete's passing leaves an unfillable void in our lives, his legacy of love, laughter, and service will continue to inspire and uplift us. We take comfort in the memories of his bright smile, his quick wit, and his unwavering commitment to making the world a better place.
Cherished Family
Pete was preceded in death by his loving wife, Junita Taylor; daughter, Funita Taylor; granddaughter, Amiracle Strong; mother, Mary Clemons; father, Ernest Lee Taylor Sr.; brothers, Ernest Lee Taylor Jr. and Otis “Dean” Taylor; and sister, Henrietta Clemons.
He is survived by his children: Alexander McDaniel (Carmen), Felisha Strong (Cornelius), William Taylor (Samantha), and Davida Taylor; his 17 grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life; his 2 great-granddaughters; and many loved nieces and nephews. Pete's family was his everything, and he was proud of the people they have become.
