Wymon Taylor Obituary

Funeral Service for Mr. Wymon Taylor, 76, of Moulton, AL. will be noon, Tuesday May 12, 2026, in Reynolds Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Taylor will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Monday May 11, 2026, from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Wymond Moody Taylor was born on May 29, 1949, to the late James “Babe Ruth” Taylor and Emma Williams Taylor in Oakville, AL. He slipped into eternal rest on May 6, 2026, at home.
He was the 10th of 17 children; seven preceded him in death. He was a lifelong native of Oakville, AL, and attended Moulton High School.

He worked hard in his community, growing a community garden each year. He could always be found helping someone, often carrying vegetables from his garden to share with others. He had a deep love for every child in the community. He would often hand out twenty-dollar bills to children who were convinced he must be rich. Every Easter, he made sure that not only his daughter, but all the children in the community received Easter baskets. He gave even when he had nothing left to give.

He was employed at Goodyear Mill for 37 years. He enjoyed arriving at work at least an hour before his shift began. He needed time to walk around, pick, and joke with everyone. He often pulled pranks on his co-workers—but don’t get it twisted; he didn’t like for them to prank him.

He was married to Paulette Griffin Taylor for 52 years. His loving memory will be cherished by his wife; his daughter, Crystal Taylor Julien (Michael); and one grandchild he adored, Eva Julien. He leaves five brothers: Leroy Taylor, Paul Miller Taylor, Cardell Taylor, Fred “BoBo” Taylor, and Johnny Lee Taylor (Mattie); and five sisters: Hazel Pointer, Josephine Brackin, Lola Mosley, Shirley Griffin, and Beverly Brackin. He also leaves a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
