Graveside Service for Mr. Xavier Scott, 48 of Decatur will be noon Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Calvary Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Eddie L. Walton officiating. Public viewing will be Friday from noon -5:00 PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Xavier was born June 9, 1971 in Baltimore, Maryland to Bobbie Lee Harper Jackson and the late Thurman Henry Scott. He went to be with his maker and creator on May 9, 2020 in Decatur, Alabama.
In his earlier years he regularly attended St. James C.P. Church in America and later was affiliated with United Pentecostal Jubilee House of Prayer. He was educated in the Decatur City Schools and attended Austin High School. He was a self-employed painter that worked in private homes in the Albany District of Old Decatur. He enjoyed and was gifted in painting.
He was a fun person to be around that was kind-hearted and loving. He had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed sports, spending time with his family and friends. Any kids that crossed his paths took a great liking toward him. He took great pride and time in everything that he did and for that God granted him with the power to fight courageously his battle with cancer. He won by being a firm believer in God.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Thurman Henry Scott and his oldest brother, Dequincy Scott.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his mother, Bobbie Jackson (Edward) of Decatur; two brothers, Jarvis Scott (Atia) of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Corey Scott of Decatur; two sisters, Dina Scott and Tilina Scott both of Decatur; his longtime companion, Kimberly Mitchell and her five children, Ariel Owens, Nathan Owens, Zackery Mitchell, Kaliya Mitchell and TJ Owens; one god-granddaughter, Harley and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
