Graveside Service for Ms. Zeiera Maresha Townsend, 22, of Decatur, Alabama will be 10:00 am Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Sterrs Cemetery with The Rev. Tracy Seltzer officiating. Public viewing will be Friday from noon to 5:00 pm. at Reynolds Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Social distancing will be enforced.
Zeiera Maresha Townsend was born on March 1, 1998 to Marlow Townsend and Nereisha Hope Wallace in Decatur, AL. She departed this life on July 18, 2020 at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
She accepted Christ at an early age and united with Moulton Heights M.B. Church, where she worked as an usher when she was able to work.
She graduated from Decatur High School Class of 2019. She was a cheerleader at D.H.S. and was involved in community affairs. She loved music, dancing and movies especially "The Five Heartbeats".
"Ruda", as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, really loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Townsend; great grandparents, Mr. Leonard and Mrs. Willie Mae Stover; great uncle, Donell Stover; stepmother, Sonya Townsend.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory, her mother, Nercrisha Hope Wallace; her father, Marlow Townsend; sister, Ahreannua Townsend; brother, Blake Townsend all of Decatur; stepbrother, Jahiem Hembrick of Huntsville; grandmother, Iris Strain; grandfathers, Willie Townsend Sr. and Wayne Wallace; aunts, Jan (Karle) Rogers, Dara (Greg) Jackson and Daysha (Joshua) Strain Williams; uncles, Willie Townsend, Jr., Terry (Tracey) Townsend; 6 great uncles; 7 great aunts; two great great uncles, L. C. and Charles Sears, all of Decatur; one great great aunt, Geneva Martin; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
