Zeria Dean Williams Crump was born April 10, 1949 in Boliver County, Mississippi. She departed this life on October 25, 2020 in Decatur, Alabama. She was the youngest of 10 children born to the union of Willie Williams and Otralia Pruitt Williams.
Zeria confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Oakgrove Missionary Baptist Church. She always was a God-fearing woman and continued her faithfulness at St. Peter M.B. Church in Decatur. She served and continued her studies under the leader the Rev. Jerry Baker until her untimely death.
She received her formal education in Mississippi and upon moving to Chicago in 1960, she attended Manley High School where she was a 1967 graduate. Zeria met the love of her life, Mr. Kenneth E. Crump Sr. and on March 16, 1967 they were united in Holy matrimony .
Zeria was a homemaker, known for cooking great dishes and if you needed a place to stay, opened her home and heart to anyone in need and raised other children that were not biologically hers but received the same love. In her earlier years Zeria loved playing bid whist on the weekends along with having fish frys.
Zeria was preceded in death by: her parents; one grandson, Tarran Crump along with four brothers and one sister.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Kenny; five children:, Zonita Jones (Walter) of Decatur AL, Tarrance Crump (Lashon), Taronda Bell (Nathaniel), Kenneth Crump Jr. (Delores), Tracy Nelson (Maurice) all of Illinois; one sister, Mable Williams of Indianola, MS: one brother Willie Williams (Lillie) of Trotwood, OH; 16 grandchildren, one of which she raised as her own, Tarrance Crump Jr. (Tave), 28 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends who loved her dearly.
She had many friends but she was especially close to Patsy, Catherine, Mary, Rachel, and Rosetta.
Local public viewing for Mrs. Zeria D. Crump, 71 of Decatur, Alabama will be Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. till 5:00 p.m. at Reynolds Funeral Home. Services in Chicago will be announced by
