Memorial Service for Mr. Leroy Robinson, a resident of Decatur, Alabama will be 3:00 PM, Thursday at Reynolds Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Juston Matthews officiating.

Leroy Robinson affectionately known as “Bro Man” by his family was born September 11, 1939 in Town Creek, Alabama to the late Willie B. Bynum and Luevenia Vernice King Robinson.  He accepted Christ at a young age and was a member of Red Bank Missionary Baptist Church in Town Creek, Alabama.  He lived to be 76 years old and departed this life on January 28, 2016 in Decatur, Alabama.  He was a devoted father, retired chef, loving grandfather, trustworthy friend and veteran.  


Leroy enlisted in the U.S. Army on December 5, 1963 and was honorable discharged on December 6, 1971.  He traveled many places in the U.S. and also to Germany and Vietnam where he fought in the Vietnam War.  While in the military he attended cooking school and became a chef.  He later was employed as a chef at the Lurleen B. Wallace Center in Decatur, Alabama for approximately 15 years until he retired.


“Bro Man” was preceded in death by his parents: Willie B. Bynum and Luevenia Robinson; and one sister, Rhodell Whitfield.


He is survived by: his children, Dorothy Nash, Anthony Robinson, and Lauren Matthews; his siblings, Emma Davis, Vernice Koger, Mariah Hutching, Catherine Adam, and R.M. Robinson; two grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
