Funeral service for Mrs. Mary Brooks, 82 of Moulton, AL. will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 12:00 Noon, at Smith Chapel CME Church in Moulton, Alabama, with Bro. Thommy Brooks, officiating and burial in Moulton Memory Garden. Public viewing will be Wednesday from 2-7 and Thursday, 10:00 - 7:00 at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Mrs. Brooks was born on April 7, 1934 to the proud parents of William and Vivian Nash Rush in Spartanburg, SC. Mary left us on April 21, 2016 with her family by her side. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Rev. Charles D. Brooks.

From a very young age, Mrs. Brooks expressed the characteristics of a caring, compassionate woman, with a sincere desire to help those around her.  She had many different talents and served the public as a hair dresser, seamstress and dietician.  Mrs. Brooks enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her friends and family.

Together with her husband, the late Rev. Charles D. Brooks, she raised nine beautiful children and assisted in the rearing of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and others in her neighborhood.  Mrs. Brooks was known for her cooking, especially her locally famous caramel cakes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters, Annie L. Yarbrough and Priscilla M. Brooks; four sisters, Genelle Rush, Louise Rush, Nancy Rush and Sadie Rush; three brothers, Samuel Rush, Johnny Rush and Jimmy Lee Rush.

Mrs. Brooks leaves to cherish her memory: seven children, Charles D. Brooks, Clarksville, TN, Doris Johnson, Sheffield, AL, Julia Brooks and Edward G. Brooks of Moulton, AL, Oscar D. Brooks and Kenneth D. Brooks of Decatur and Thommy L. Brooks, Cadiz, KY; two sisters, Geneva Young and Rosa Lee Deloach of Spartanburg, SC; two brothers, William Rush, Jr and Samuel Rush of Spartanburg, SC; 21 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be: Dermon McDaniel, Clyde Pruitt, Leroy Mason, James McDaniel, Lebron Clark and Benny Russell. Flower Bearers will be: Lela Redes, Audrey Priest, Peggy Taylor, Heather Lawson and Barbara Mason.
