Mrs. Maxcie Mae Chatman, 82 of Somerville, Alabama died Monday, April 25, 2016 at the River City Center. The funeral will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Reynolds Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Roger Pride, officiating.  Inhumation  will follow in Calvary Memorial Gardens. Public viewing will be Thursday from 2-7 pm and Friday from 10:00 - 6:00.

Mrs. Maxie Mae Turney Chatman was born May 19, 1933, to the parents of the late Maxie and Eddie Bell Turney.  She departed this life on Monday, April 25, 2016 at River City Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Maxie Mae Chatman devoted herself to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and faithful Christian.

She was preceded in death aby her parents, her husband, Oz Chatman; her daughter, Evelyn Ellison; one granddaughter, Kimberly Terell Ellison; one brother, Mac Arthur Turney; three sisters, Elizabeth Black, Bernice Cowley, Faye Sykes; and one nephew, Don J. Timmons.                                                                                                       

She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her son, Larry Harris, Austin, TX; four granddaughters, Stephanie Ellison Coffey of Decatur, Belinda Ellison Graham (Kevin) of Huntsville, AL, Dominique Garner of Decatur, Sherry Arnold of Dayton, OH; one special grandson, Christopher Ellison (Adrianne Pride-Ellison) of Decatur; one son-in-law, George Ellison of Decatur; nine great grandchildren; one devoted niece, Katie Garner (Harold) of Hillsboro, AL; siblings, Ruth Stevenson, Lula Jean Turney, Joe Bond Turney all of Milwaukee, WI; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Keith Bradley, Reece Sykes, Chris Ellison, Leo Sykes and Terrence Smith. Flower Bearers will be Family and Friends.
